WHAT THIS IS
MOST OUTDOOR COURSES TRAIN YOU FOR A WEEKEND. THIS ONE TRAINS YOU FOR THE DECISION.
Most outdoor education happens in short courses and weekend clinics. The systems taught rarely survive a second day of weather, a failed piece of gear, or a decision that has to be made tired.
The Beyond Human Training Labs are built differently. Each lab is a two-day field session in real Ontario backcountry, run in conditions close to what expedition travel actually demands. The curriculum is drawn from a decade of human-powered travel across Africa, North America, and high-altitude terrain.
You won't leave certified. You'll leave with repeatable systems, a clear map of your own gaps, and a decision-making framework that holds under load.
This is not a beginners' camping course and it is not a guided tour.
Applicants without baseline fitness or backcountry exposure are directed to The Audit before they're eligible for a lab.
WHO THIS IS FOR
BUILT FOR THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE.
People preparing for their first serious solo or multi-day expedition
Outdoor professionals refining their systems
Leaders testing decision-making outside the environments they usually work in
THE CURRICULUM
FOUR TWO-DAY LABS. ONTARIO'S MOST DEMANDING BACKCOUNTRY. EIGHT PARTICIPANTS EACH.
Every lab covers the same foundation, movement, navigation, logistics, decision-making — and layers a specific environment on top. Each lab stands alone or sequences into the next.

Master 'Zero-Waste' resource logistics, adaptive decision-making at the cognitive red-line, and transparent communication under fatigue.
